Connect Freddy from ChatGPT
ChatGPT can talk to Freddy as a custom connector. Once added, you can ask ChatGPT about your sleep, training, recovery, and other health data in any conversation, and it pulls live answers from your wearables.
ChatGPT signs in automatically through the standard OAuth redirect flow. There is no shell recipe and no token to paste.
Before you start
- A Freddy account. Sign up free at freddy.coach.
- At least one wearable connected and synced in your Freddy dashboard.
- A paid ChatGPT plan (Plus, Pro, Team, or Enterprise). Custom connectors are not available on the free tier.
Step 1: Open the connector settings
In ChatGPT, click your profile (top right), then Settings, then Connectors (or Apps & Connectors depending on plan). Click Add new and pick the option for a custom MCP server.
Step 2: Paste the URL
In the Server URL field, paste:
https://freddy.coach/mcp
Give the connector a name like "Freddy" and save. ChatGPT will open a Freddy authorization page in a new tab.
Step 3: Approve
Sign in with the email you use for Freddy and click Approve on the "Read your wearable and health data" permission. You will be returned to ChatGPT with Freddy listed under your connectors. Approval also enables the in-chat tools that connect, disconnect, and sync wearables on your behalf.
Step 4: Try it
Start a chat and toggle Freddy on (you may need to click the connectors icon under the chat box and enable Freddy for the conversation). Then try:
- "How did I sleep last night?"
- "What's available in my Freddy data?"
- "Show me my last five workouts and what zones I trained in."
- "Connect my Polar account."
ChatGPT will call Freddy's tools and answer with live data.
What ChatGPT can do for you
ChatGPT's connector talks to Freddy through three MCP query tools and three MCP write tools. From inside a chat you can:
- Query sleep, recovery, training, glucose, weight, and other metrics.
- Connect a new wearable (Polar, Oura, WHOOP, and so on).
- Sync or disconnect a connected wearable.
Account management (subscription, email preferences, audit log) is not available via the ChatGPT connector path. For those, use the Freddy dashboard or a fully-scoped agent like Claude Code via the device-flow setup.
Troubleshooting
Connector keeps asking me to sign in. Your ChatGPT session lost its OAuth grant with Freddy. Remove and re-add the connector to refresh.
ChatGPT says no data found. Check your Freddy dashboard to confirm a wearable is connected and synced. New connections take a few minutes to backfill.
Free plan limits. The Freddy free plan exposes the last 30 days of data and one wearable. Upgrade to Pro for $9 per year for full history and unlimited connections.
Data privacy. Freddy reads your wearable data using OAuth tokens you grant. We do not share or sell it. Tokens and stored health data are AES-256 encrypted at rest. See the privacy policy for the full details.
