Grok is xAI's chat assistant at grok.com. You add freddy once as a custom connector, approve the connection, and Grok can answer questions about your sleep, workouts and heart rate in any chat. This guide is for Grok at grok.com. For Grok's always-on agent, see Connect freddy to Grok Bot.
Before you start
You need a Grok account and a freddy account. To ask about your data right away, connect a source in freddy first. See Choose and connect a data source.
1. Open connectors
Go to grok.com/connectors. Select New Connector, then choose Custom.
2. Enter freddy's address
Enter this as the MCP server URL:
https://freddy.coach/mcpUse the same URL for every freddy account. It contains no personal token.
3. Approve the connection
Complete the authentication Grok asks for. Grok sends you to freddy's authorization page. Sign in with your freddy email code if needed. Review any required Terms, Privacy and Consumer Health Data consent, then approve Grok's access. Enter your sign-in code on freddy's page, not in the Grok chat.
freddy uses OAuth for this connection. You do not need to give Grok a freddy API key or access token.
4. Ask about your data
Start a chat and try: “What data is available in my freddy account?” Grok finds freddy's tools by itself. After that, ask things like “How did I sleep last night?” or “Show me my last five workouts.”
If you are on a Business or Enterprise plan
On Grok Business and Enterprise, a team admin provisions connectors in the cloud console before they are available to members. If you do not see freddy, ask your admin.
Manage access
Remove the connector at grok.com/connectors. You can also revoke Grok's OAuth grant in freddy under Connected AI.
Using Grok Build instead
Grok Build is xAI's terminal coding agent. Run this once:
grok mcp add --transport http freddy https://freddy.coach/mcpThe first time Grok Build uses freddy, it opens a browser sign-in. Approve it on freddy's authorization page, the same way as above.
If setup does not work
Check that Grok has the exact URL https://freddy.coach/mcp and that it is using OAuth. Grok reaches freddy over the public internet. Do not paste an API key, MCP key or email code into the chat. If the sign-in still fails, contact freddy support with the error text, without sending a code or token.
