Connect your Garmin
Connect your Garmin account and freddy reads your Garmin health and training data in any AI chat, then keeps it current automatically as your device syncs. Garmin makes about the last month of history available when you connect -- new data flows in from there. Older history can be imported from a Garmin data export -- see Import your full Garmin history.
Connecting
- Sign in to freddy.
- On the dashboard, find the Garmin tile in your integrations list.
- Click Connect Garmin. You will be redirected to Garmin Connect to authorize freddy.
- Approve the requested scopes. freddy only requests read access to your personal data -- no write access is requested and nothing is posted to your Garmin account.
- After authorizing, Garmin redirects you back to freddy. We backfill the recent history Garmin makes available (about the last month), then keep it current automatically as your device syncs. Most data lands within a few minutes. To bring in older history, see Import your full Garmin history.
What data freddy reads
freddy reads the full set of data types available through the Garmin Health API:
Health: daily summaries, sleep, detailed sleep stages, stress, HRV status, body battery, pulse oximetry, respiration rate, VO2 max, body composition, and activity epochs (minute-by-minute movement data).
Activity: activity summary records and per-activity details.
Women's Health (if enabled on your Garmin device): menstrual cycle tracking and pregnancy tracking.
freddy stores all of this encrypted at rest and serves it only to the AI assistant you have connected.
Push-based updates
Garmin pushes data to freddy automatically as your device syncs with Garmin Connect. You do not need to trigger manual syncs -- data flows in shortly after each device sync.
Troubleshooting
My data is not showing up after connecting. Initial sync runs in the background. Wait a few minutes, then check the "Last synced" timestamp on the Garmin tile. If it still shows nothing, disconnect and reconnect from the dashboard.
"Authorization failed" or redirect error. Make sure you are logged in to Garmin Connect before clicking Connect in freddy. If the issue persists, clear your browser cookies for garmin.com and try again.
Disconnecting
Click Disconnect on the Garmin tile in your dashboard. freddy immediately deletes all your Garmin data and revokes our access at Garmin Connect. You can also revoke manually at connect.garmin.com under Account Information, then Connected Apps.
