See what spikes your glucose
Find out how your glucose actually responds to specific meals, workouts or your morning coffee, using your own readings instead of generic advice.
Data you need:
- Glucose: dexcom or ultrahuman or apple-health or health-connect
Find your glucose data
Whether you wear a continuous monitor or log the occasional finger-stick, your assistant can work with what you have. Start by seeing what is there.
Run list_metrics and show me my glucose data: the metric names, the units (mg/dL or mmol/L), how often it is recorded, and the date range.
Units differ by source: Apple Health stores mg/dL, Health Connect stores mmol/L. Tell the assistant to keep them straight.
Look at a specific response
Pick something you want to understand, a meal, a walk, a coffee, and see what your glucose did around it.
On [date], I [ate X / went for a walk / had coffee] at roughly [time]. Pull my glucose around that window and describe what happened: the starting level, how high it went, how long it took to come back down, and whether it dipped below baseline afterwards.
Compare choices
Once you have a few of these logged, let the assistant compare them.
Compare my glucose response to [oatmeal] versus [eggs] across the times I have logged each. Which one raises my glucose more, and which one keeps it steadier? Use only my readings, and say so if I do not have enough logged to compare.
What you'll see
A typical read: a bowl of oats sends you up sharply and back down with a dip an hour later, while eggs barely move the line, so eggs keep you steadier. Your body will respond in its own way.
The example is illustrative, not from real readings.
Good to know
Units differ by source. Apple Health uses mg/dL and Health Connect uses mmol/L. If your data comes from more than one, make sure the assistant does not mix them.
Continuous vs occasional. A continuous monitor shows the full curve; occasional finger-stick readings only show snapshots, so the more you log around an event, the clearer the picture.
One response is not a rule. Sleep, stress, movement and time of day all shift how you respond to the same food, so look for patterns across several logs, not a single day.
