Hermes Agent is an open source agent from Nous Research that you run yourself. With freddy added, it can read your sleep, workouts and heart rate, and you can ask it to check them on a schedule.
Before you start
You need a freddy account, at least one connected source, and Hermes installed. See Choose and connect a data source.
1. Add freddy to your config
Open ~/.hermes/config.yaml and add:
mcp_servers:
freddy:
url: "https://freddy.coach/mcp"
auth: oauthIf the file already has an mcp_servers block, add the freddy entry inside it. The URL is the same for every freddy account and contains no personal token.
2. Sign in
Open a fresh terminal and run:
hermes mcp login freddyHermes prints freddy's authorization link and opens your browser when it can. Sign in with your freddy email code if needed, review any required Terms, Privacy and Consumer Health Data consent, and approve.
Run the login from a fresh terminal, not from inside a running Hermes session. When Hermes reloads its config on its own, the sign-in window is short and can time out.
On a server with no browser, run hermes mcp login freddy --flow device. Hermes prints a link and a short code. Open the link on any device, enter the code, and approve.
3. Reload and ask
In a running Hermes session, type /reload-mcp. Then ask: “What data is available in my freddy account?”
Manage access
Remove the freddy entry from your config to disconnect. You can also revoke Hermes's OAuth grant in freddy under Connected AI.
If setup does not work
Check that the URL is exactly https://freddy.coach/mcp and that auth is oauth. If a tool call says you are not signed in, run hermes mcp login freddy again. Do not paste an API key into the config when OAuth works. If it still fails, see agent troubleshooting or contact freddy support with the error text, without sending a code or token.
