What's new in freddy: week of September 28, 2026

Date-based questions now follow your local day, and daily totals tell your AI when they may still be incomplete.

A warm welcome to the 736 new members who joined freddy last week. Week 40 makes two everyday questions more literal: which day did a reading belong to, and is a daily total actually finished?

In short

  • Date ranges now follow the local day reported by the freddy app, so morning workouts and other readings stay on the day you experienced them.
  • Daily totals now tell your AI when they may still be incomplete and when that source was last read.

Dates now match the day you experienced

A date can mean different things depending on where you are. Early in the morning in Seoul, for example, the UTC calendar can still say the previous day. A workout or reading could therefore disappear from a date-based question even though it was clearly part of that day for you.

Date-only questions now use the timezone reported by the freddy app. A request for Tuesday follows Tuesday where you are, while source-provided daily records keep the day assigned by the source. If freddy does not know your timezone, the answer says that it is using UTC instead of leaving the rule unstated.

Daily totals no longer look more final than they are

A total for today is a moving snapshot. The same can be true for an older day if a source last read it before that day ended. Until now, that value could look just as settled as a complete full-day result.

freddy now adds a possibly incomplete note when the day is still open or a source was last read before it ended. The note includes the last read time. Your AI can then describe the total as a snapshot that may still grow, rather than treating it as the final word on the day.

What changes in a conversation

Questions such as "Show my workouts from Tuesday" now use the day you meant when the app has reported your timezone. Questions about today's steps, sleep, or other daily totals carry the extra context needed to distinguish an in-progress day from a finished one.

The change applies inside freddy's AI tools, so it follows you across Claude, ChatGPT, Perplexity, and other compatible clients. There is nothing new to configure beyond keeping the timezone on your phone current.
